Hey guys! I am oh-so-aware that I’ve been noticeably absent on here of late, and I’m here to explain why with this life update. There’s a few reasons, but I promise those reasons also bring with them promises of exciting things.
Reason for absence #1
I have recently decided to become a Thermomix consultant. I’ve been using Thermies for the better part of my 21 years on Earth, so it seemed natural that I would start selling them. My business has been kick-started by my totally incredible team, and by my rad-as-hell family who help me all day, every day. What does this mean for you? Kick-ass cooking videos and recipes, of course! Keep your eyes peeled! In the meantime, you can like my Facebook page here to stay in the loop.
Reason for absence #2
We bought a house. I know you all already know this and you’re probably thinking “Dude, that was, like, six months ago. You’ve already written a blog post about this. Get your shit together.” But let me tell you – owning a house is work. We’ve ripped up and replanted our front garden, built up this season’s veggie garden, taken up the old carpet through the house, started sanding the floors, stripped the flaking paint off our windowsills… the list goes on. This all being said, it may be work, but it’s the most rewarding work I’ve ever done in my life.
Reason for absence #3
I’ve started new meds. Most of you probably know by now, and if you don’t then surprise – I have anxiety, and have had pretty much all my life. Only very recently have I decided to do something about it, and now I’m on Lexapro, which is working wonders, to be honest. I think my anxiety had really reached a point where I couldn’t try to just live with it any more. And now here I am. Starting the medication really knocked me around. I couldn’t sleep, I felt ill, and it generally made me want to sleep 24/7. But that passed, and now here I am! I’m working on a blog post about this transition for those of you who are interested, so be on the lookout!
Reason for absence #4
I’ve been freelancing more, and VA-ing my butt off. I’ve recently finished a bunch of articles for a cool website which saw me smashing away at my keyboard for weeks at a time and drinking too much coffee. My amazing client who I VA for has also had some incredibly exciting stuff happening, which I’ve been helping her with. These things are damn awesome, and it’s while I do this work that I realise how lucky I am.
Reason for absence #5
My poor computer, Stella, is currently very ill. I’m hoping it’s not terminal, but I’m losing my optimism. Suddenly one day she wouldn’t turn on – no lights, no noises, nothing. I haven’t been able to take her in and get her seen to yet, perhaps because I’m a bit scared of the prognosis! To be honest, at this point, I just want what’s on my hard drive. If the computer itself is gone, so be it. I just want my files, damnit! So here I am, using my partner’s computer when I manage to bribe him with cheese. If you take nothing else away from this post, just please, please, please back up your computer. Because shit happens.
So there you have it. 5 reasons for a prolonged absence which hopefully won’t be prolonged any longer. You’re all fab, and believe me when I say I really, really miss writing this funny little blog of mine.
I’ll see you all very soon.
